Your Real Kurls wig is made from synthetic coily fibre designed to give you a natural, full Afro look with minimal maintenance.
With the right care, you can keep your curls looking beautiful, defined, and full for longer.

1. Handle With Your Hands
Our coily fibre is designed to be worn in its natural shape.
Avoid brushing or combing the hair, as this can disturb the curl pattern and cause unnecessary frizz and shedding.
Instead, gently use your fingers to separate, stretch, and detangle the curls when needed.
Finger detangling is your best friend.

2. Refresh With Oil Sheen
To refresh the fibre and bring back softness and shine, lightly mist the wig with a light oil sheen or a product specifically suitable for synthetic hair.
Do not oversaturate the wig. A little goes a long way.

3. Washing Your Wig
Wash your wig only when necessary.
Use cold or lukewarm water.
Use a gentle shampoo suitable for synthetic wigs.
Gently move the wig through the water. Do not scrub, rub, or aggressively agitate the hair.
Rinse thoroughly.
Never twist or wring the wig.
Gently press or blot away excess water with a clean towel.

4. Air Dry Only! Never Use a Hair Dryer
Allow your wig to air dry naturally in a well ventilated area.
Do not use a hair dryer, straightener, curling iron, or other direct heat.
Keep the wig away from high heat, steam, open flames, ovens, and other heat sources. Excessive heat can permanently damage synthetic fibres.
Allow the wig to become completely dry before wearing or storing it.

5. Want to Change the Curl Pattern?
Your coily wig may be reshaped using curling rods and warm-water styling techniques.
Please note: Once the synthetic fibre has been reshaped using this method, the original curl pattern may not return. This is a permanent styling change.
If you love the original Real Kurls curl pattern, we recommend keeping the wig in its original shape.

6. Expect Some Shrinkage
Synthetic coily fibre may gradually shrink and become more compact with wear and time.
This is normal for the fibre and part of the natural evolution of a coily style.
You can gently stretch and fluff the hair with your fingers to restore volume and shape.

7. Let Your Kurls Free Form
Your wig may gradually become more free form and fluffy with regular wear. That's part of the beauty of a natural Afro texture.
You don't need to constantly manipulate it. Sometimes, the best thing you can do is simply fluff, shape, and go.

8. Protect Your Wig
For a longer lasting wig:
Remove your wig before sleeping.
Avoid swimming in salt water or bathing while wearing it.
Minimise friction against rough clothing, scarves, and accessories.
Keep it away from excessive heat and direct sunlight.

Store it clean and completely dry.

Store it in your Real Kurls satin wig bag when not in use.
